AI-SinuPath
AI Based Image Guided Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Figure above shows ROIs (sinus, lesion, etc.) and tip of nose that are seen at CT scan as an example. Best surgical path and its safety region (3% uncertainty) are shown with green and blue trajectories, respectively. Surgical trajectories are thinnest here for visualization purposes (it can be larger) depending on the uncertainty percentage.
AI-SinuPath is an intelligent software designed to automate the segmentation of head/neck CT scans (tissues and pathologies), formulate accurate surgical trajectories, and incorporate these critical delineations (including polyps/lesions, and tumors) into endoscopic views in real-time.
AI-SinuPath is first-ever AI-powered Image-guided surgery system for Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) . AI-SinuPath is designed to deliver a safer and more precise surgical navigation system, potentially minimizing the risk of intraoperative complications and the need for subsequent revision surgeries: up to ~50% of revision surgeries are expected to be eliminated. Once it is cleared at FDA and become a clinical standard, AI-SinuPath will reduce overall healthcare costs and improve patient outcome given the fact that millions FESS in the USA are often associated with high revision rates. AI-SinuPath is not just an enhancement of existing protocols but a reimaging of FESS planning and execution, especially for complex cases where precision is paramount and the margin for error, consequential.
